Meet The Team

arin Clark is a native of the Springfield area, growing up in Divernon before later making Springfield her home. She and her husband, Steve Clark, own and operate a local business. She is also a proud mother to her son, Dallas. Karin brings a strong background in business development, relationship-building, and marketing.

A lifelong animal lover and enthusiastic supporter of zoos and wildlife education, Karin has sought out opportunities to visit and learn from zoos throughout her life—especially during her son’s childhood, when family trips often included visits to zoos in different communities. Those experiences reinforced her appreciation for the role zoological organizations play in conservation, education, and connecting families to the natural world.

As a member of the Springfield Zoological Society Board of Directors, Karin is excited to apply her professional experience and community-minded approach to help strengthen the Society’s outreach, expand engagement opportunities, and support the Zoo’s long-term success and impact across the region.

Robert Pinkston has served on the Springfield Zoological Society for more than twenty years and has volunteered as a Henson Robinson Zoo education volunteer for nearly thirty. In addition, he volunteers at Scoville Zoo in Decatur, Illinois. Robert is also active with the Springfield Jaycees. He is in the local Hall of Fame for his professional wrestling abilities. He and wife, Sarah, reside in Springfield.

Springfield native Maureen Cavanagh Squires fondly remembers spending her seventh birthday at the newly opened Henson Robinson Zoo. Decades later, she serves as the Springfield Zoological Society’s secretary. She holds a degree in Journalism from SIU-Carbondale and reported for newspapers including the Peoria Journal-Star. She later transitioned to writing and communications work for the state of Illinois. She retired from the Illinois Department on Aging in 2022. Maureen enjoys volunteering in the community and spending time with her husband, Randy, and their rescue dog, Teddy

Terry J. Supan is President and CEO of Supan Prosthetic Orthotic Consultations. He is a Clinical Professor (Retired) at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and a former Chair of the Illinois Orthotic, Prosthetic and Pedorthic Licensure Board.  He was a licensed and board-certified orthotist and prosthetist that specialized in upper limb amputations, cerebral palsy, scoliosis, polio, stroke, and other rehabilitation for persons with physical disabilities.  On March 22nd, 2012 he was honored with the Titus-Ferguson Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium for his accomplishments and contributions that have made a significant impact on the Orthotic & Prosthetic profession. 

Mr. Supan is a Fellow Emeritus of both the AAOP and the International Society for Prosthetics & Orthotics.  He was previously elected as the President of the Academy in 1990 and has also served on the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, National Commission on Orthotic & Prosthetic Education, and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.  In June of 2015, he was appointed to the International Society for Prosthetics & Orthotics’ Executive Board and served as Treasurer of ISPO until October of 2019.

“Growing up on a farm I’ve always had a love of animals.  During all my national and international travels, I visited as may zoos & aquariums as I could.  That’s why I started volunteering at Henson Robinson Zoo in 2022, where my kids attended Zoo Camp almost 40 years ago, and I’m now specializing in the Red Wolves, Black Bears and the Birds of Prey.  That’s also why I joined the Society’s Board of Directors two years later when I fully retired from my profession.”

Mr. Supan & his wife Marcia live in the country near Rochester where his “pets” are wild deer, turkey, fox, squirrel, and birds of all varieties.  Beyond their support of the Henson Robinson Zoo, they are patrons of both the Springfield Muni and the UIS Performing Arts Center.

Adrienne Dalenberg is a leadership coach, entrepreneur, and community advocate dedicated to helping people and organizations grow with purpose and impact. As founder of LeadershipDNA, she equips leaders, teams, and nonprofits with the tools to strengthen culture, improve performance, and achieve meaningful results. Adrienne is passionate about community engagement and supporting organizations that enrich the lives of families throughout Central Illinois. Through her service with the Springfield Zoological Society, she helps advance the zoo’s mission of conservation, education, and inspiring connections between people and wildlife. She lives in Pawnee, Illinois.
